xGPS currently uses only Google Maps map data. This is, by default, acquired as needed from the Google servers. If you desire greater speed, or will incur charges from downloading data, xGPS can use store the maps on the device instead. To do this, you must install "xGPS Manager" (download) on your Mac, Windows or Linux computer. This will let you select geographic regions and map zoom levels to download the map images for. It will then download them, and allow you to transfer them to your device.
In xGPS settings, turning the "Offline Mode" switch on will force the use of only maps stored on the device.
Or you can use web interface (settigs -> wireless transfer):
in your browser type: http://your_iphone_ip:7777
and Upload a new maps database
- xGPS Manager - further information about using the program.
